PROJECT 1:
BRAINWAVE CHECKzzz

We will be testing various brainwave entrainment audio samples to see which files
produce the most effective psychoacoustic effects for lucid dreaming and trance induction.

Get involved in one or all of our ongoing projects. We need your input to gather more information.

"Like fireworks in the night sky, synaptic pulses ripple throughout your neural terrain."

This project will be testing different brainwave frequencies. There are 12 different files in .mp3 format with different embedded binaural beat frequencies. They have been named randomly assigned names like cookie.mp3, pie.mp3 or cookie.wav and pie.wav, etc… They are all uploaded to the new SAMPLES section.

You can then click on the file links and download them directly to wherever you want to store them, just like you would anything else you download.
You can then listen to them on your mp3 player. If you don't have an mp3 player you can download one for free at www.winamp.com.

You can just open them up as a normal file and then play them on "LOOP" mode. This will allow you to loop a 10 or 20
second file and not have to download larger more time-consuming ones. The assignment is to listen to and evaluate each file. Try to describe "how" they made you feel, if anything is noticeable mention it. As descriptive as you can be, jot
down what your subjective experience was like
while you were listening to the sample. What was your state
of mind like? What was the experience like? You can use the ONLINE RESPONSE FORM to keep track of your
experiences with each sample.

It will have the name of the sample and a few questions that
you can fill out to rate your subjective experience, but in addition to the rating make sure to write a brief (or more
in-depth) write up of your experience.

---- If you have trouble describing your state of mind and explaining the subjective experince, don’t worry; you’ll get better at it as you go along. It just takes a little awareness and you’ll begin to start noticing whether you were feeling semi-relaxed or very relaxed, or semi-absorbed or fully absorbed, etc…

When testing the samples, use headphones if you can. It is very important to the process. If you don’t have headphones you should go purchase a pair at RadioShack or BestBuy. They are very inexpensive and will maximize the effects of the brainwave entrainment. If you do not use headphones you weaken the effects. You can still achieve some results BUT you MUST place your speakers so that they are equally positioned with one speaker at a distance X to your left and one speaker at distance X to your right. So one speaker should be directly to your right and one speaker should be the same distance away but on your left side.

The reason for this is that the tones need to be perceived
equally in each ear. One channel in one ear and the other
channel in the other ear. This is why it is so important to use
headphones, but if you don’t have headphones you can
make do by repositioning your speakers. If you have any
questions or aren’t quite following me, just email me and I’ll
explain it better. Listen to each sample for at least 20
minutes, but you can listen to them longer if you like, but just
not any less than 20 minutes. If you listen to then before you
go to bed, try to go to bed 20 minutes earlier so you won’t
fall asleep before "experiencing" it for 20 minutes. If you
find that you fall asleep to one (or some) of the samples
even if you try as hard as you can to stay awake, just report
that in in the ONLINE RESPONSE FORM, but make sure that you are not falling asleep because you were already tired to
begin with or you normally fall asleep around that time.

Also, try to keep your testing to ONE or TWO SAMPLES per day, ideally just one. If you test more than one sample per day MAKE SURE that there is an interval between sampling them of at least
2 hours. So if you test one from 6:00pm to 6:45pm then don't test another one until at least 8:45. If you can try to jot down what you experienced directly after you sample/test it. If you wait until later
or wait until the next day, you will probably have far, far less recall. Just like your dreams if you do not write them down immediately
they become less memorable or they may even entirely disappear from your memory, so do your reporting/feedback as soon as you are done testing. Here is a good way to test them: Set an alarm clock for 30 minutes or 40 or 60….then set up your wav or mp3 player to loop the sample, lie down in comfy loose-fitted clothes,
get comfortable, just close your eyes and let your mind go. Just watch how and where your thoughts go, etc…

You could read the ONLINE RESPONSE FORM to get an idea of what to look for. Before sampling check the clock and check it again when you are done so you know how long you were sampling it for AND before you begin with the experiment we need to have a sense of "where you are at now" without the use of entrainment. So the first sample will be nothing, just lie down, close your eyes, and experience what happens when you just lie there for 20-30 minutes. After doing this initial "check-up", fill out the ONLINE RESPONSE FORM, and for sample name, you can enter "no sample". This is important in determining the effectiveness of the entrainment. Plus, your mind being basically an electrical muscle will be growing and creating new interconnections so as you meditate/use entrainment/experience this kind of mental exercise, it will be growing along with the experience so try to do several "no sample" RESPONSES now, while you are in the initial phases so we can get an idea of how you were/are at in the beginning. That’s pretty much it...happy entraining!
